To Light Bringers, Empaths & Artists

To my fellow artists and empaths who identify as light bringers: We signed up for this journey. We feel deeply and love deeply and empathize deeply. We bravely share our vulnerabilities every time we share our art. We put ourselves out there and share our gifts to the world, regardless of the return, or the reception. Why? Because this drive to create is intrinsic to our being and is our calling. Creating feeds our souls and for those of us who connect to spiritual callings, creating is often how we commune with the Great Creator Spirit in all things.

Truthfully, at the center of our being, we all yearn to be admired, accepted and loved. For some of us, our creativity is linked to this yearning, and to learning early on that our gifts brought us praise, or distinguished us from others. As children, this may be our driving force. As time passes, we discover that our perspective has changed, we yearn for purpose and we find it in our work. We have spent years and decades refining our craft, and sharing it at every juncture of our journey. We share our work and then we level up and best ourselves the next go round. Every new iteration, performance and showing better than the last, growing in skill and in confidence, comfort and alignment with who we are as creators. As we grow in alignment, we discover that our work is in service to others and that joy is an energetic exchange with our audience. We lift them and they lift us. We find purpose exceeds praise. We find joy in this service, seeing how our work affects the energy in the room, perhaps we see a heart lifted, a lightness or levity, an understanding, a realization, a softening. We see how we create community. At this point, we identify as bringers of light.

Look back on your journey, we all have evidence of how our work can uplift and positively affect the energy in a room. We all have evidence. We bring the joy. Through the love and passion of our creativity, we touch hearts, minds and souls. Light is energy. At it's best, it is an energetic infinity loop. 

Don’t let that gift and calling be diminished by fear. Now more than ever, we need to shine our light, radiate love and speak into existence the world we want to see. Cynicism, rage, fear and hatred weaken our spirits, drain our energy and harden our hearts and souls. It poisons us. Move through the stages of grief, but do not linger there longer than necessary. Stay informed, but do not dwell in the news cycle. Given the choice, connect with people you love and admire in person, across a table rather than across a screen. Protect your energy and do not let it be depleted. Engage in self-care and do more of those activities that feed your body, mind and spirit; that both lift you and ground you; activities that remind you of who you are and what your calling is in this life. Have faith over fear always.

We bring joy and light and beauty to people who desperately need it and crave it. Some of us bring a deeper understanding, an introspection, an outrage. Some work in the realm of social justice. Others may serve this important work independent of their creative work: Heads down talent out. Tap into your intuition and it will tell you where to go and how to be of service to humanity. Tap into your community and see where you can engage and give of your time and talents.

This is the time and place. Here and now. Our souls signed up for this assignment: To be the light we wish to see in the world. That is where your strength and resilience lies: In helping others, in creating understanding, in sharing stories. Contribute towards a positive change, be in service to humanity. I believe there is a purity in creating that links us to the energy and Creative Spirit in all things. Create goodness. This is where peace lies. 

We know our gifts, talents and abilities. We have the evidence from past experience. We know that we are able to contribute towards making an energetic and positive shift in people’s lives and that small shift is like a stone dropped in a lake and rippling outward to the world. It keeps passing forward, creating ripples of positivity. Create community: Common+unity. Do the right thing. Be kind to yourself and especially to others. Be courteous. Listen with compassion and empathy. Look for the good. There is always good. Make the choices that lift your own energy and protect your light. Nurture yourself in nature and connect with it's constancy. Listen to your intuition. Ask for guidance when you need it. Have faith over fear. Believe there is good. Be the good. Know you are loved. Love deeply. Give yourself to your work. Let the rhythm and routine of the work center you, let it be the rhythm of your heart. Find joy and grace and gratitude and peace in the natural world, in your loved ones, in every little gift and blessing in your life. See more of what you want to see in the world. Focus on that beacon of light even as you may rail against injustice through your creations. Keep your fire and flame without burning out, or dropping the beacon and burning all that is good in your midst. Our work is sacred and blessed. Be the blessing you wish to have returned to you. Have faith over fear. Stay in the moment, don't ideate in fear. Ideate in joy and love and unity. You are a light bringer. Stay in the light. Keep radiating love and joy. Share your gifts and may you be richly rewarded, in all ways and always.
